Cross flow filter has performance of self-cleaning. By driving the feed liquid parallel to the membrane surface through a pump, the shear force generated carries away the particles retained on the membrane surface, thereby keeping the filter cake layer at a relatively thin level and achieving long-term continuous filtration. Cross flow filtration operation is more complex than dead end filtration, and which is usually used for feed liquids with solid content higher than 0.5%.
